English Translation

azure frustration

If I was loved by someone,
I’d go crazy
holding that little bit of fear.
So I’ll be relying on
following myself.
I melt into the dark night again today.
Please, let me forget.

The almighty distance collapses
before I’m able to know its whereabouts.
I don’t even notice what’s feeding
my rotten body.

You take me there,
to the sea of nonsense.
That’s how, like that only love,
I’m going to melt into the unreachable future.

If I was loved by someone,
I’d go crazy
holding that little bit of fear.
So I’ll be relying on
following myself.
I melt into the dark night again today.
Please, let me forget.

If I picked up the falling memories
they’d be rotten.
To take them even if they have expired,
it’s kind of repugnant.

I wonder if something can change
as the morning comes.

If I was loved by someone,
I’d go crazy
holding that little bit of fear.
So I’ll be relying on
following myself.
I melt into the dark night again today.
Please, let me forget.

    Thanks for the translation!

In the first paragraph, I noticed you interpreted the 3rd (“hitosaji…”) and 5th (“mizukara…”) as being related to the previous line (each which has a sentence-ending verb) instead of the following one. Just curious if you had a reason for doing that.

My default would be to assume the sentence is in order, which would end up with a different interpretation for that first paragraph. In other words, I would connect “holding fear” with “forgiven”. With my interpretation you might have to reorder some of the lines in English, though.

Thank you very much for your observation! I did that at first, actually. But when I listened to the song I had to change the order according to how he separated the lines as he sang, it sounded weird to me otherwise.
